¿Influye la duración del turno de enfermería en el profesional y en el paciente?

Resumen

Objetivo: Conocer la influencia de la duración de los turnos de enfermería en el trabajo de los profesionales de enfermería y la seguridad del paciente. Método: Se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica en las bases de datos PudMed, Scielo, CINAHL y La Biblioteca Cochrane Plus en febrero y marzo de 2018. Se incluyeron los estudios publicados entre 2008 y 2018 y en los idiomas inglés y español. Se empleó la plataforma 2.0 para la lectura crítica. Resultados: Se incluyeron un total de 7 artículos. De las publicaciones incluidas, los estudios transversales fueron los más predominantes seguidos de las revisiones integradoras. Conclusión: A pesar de la importancia de la duración del turno de enfermería en relación al impacto en los profesionales y la seguridad del paciente destaca la naturaleza limitada de la investigación sobre el tema y las grandes controversias. Se hace necesario potenciar la investigación sobre el tema.
